In the current Message to the people of Kazakhstan, the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to draw attention to the development of inbound and domestic tourism. The President of Kazakhstan emphasized the rich natural potential of Lake Shalkar. This recreation area opens up new prospects for the country’s tourism potential.

According to the akim of North Kazakhstan region, Kumar Aksakalov, a comprehensive plan for the development of the Imantau-Shalkar resort zone is being developed in the region, which involves several stages. The pearl of our region Imantau-Shalkar resort area is included in the TOP-10 priority projects of the Touristization Map of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Today, together with an international consulting company, a master plan for the development of the Imantau-Shalkar resort zone is being developed. Significant state support is provided to small businesses that provide infrastructure for visiting tourists.

It should be said that already last year, representatives of local executive bodies significantly improved the transport infrastructure. For a comfortable journey to these lakes about 1 billion tenge had been allocated, this year — 3.2 billion tenge. About 150 km of roads have been repaired, which significantly reduced travel time from both the capital of our republic, Astana, and from the Russian Federation.

«For the first time, many Kazakhstani people can discover for themselves the most beautiful places in our region — Lakes Shalkar and Imantau. It is worth emphasizing that this is a unique pearl of NKR, which has attracted a considerable number of tourists for many years, primarily tourists from the Russian Federation. Only by the end of the first half of this year, the number of tourists who arrived in Shalkar and Imantau has doubled», — the regional akim Kumar Aksakalov said during the Online talk show on Khabar TV channel.

The first head of the region also stressed that the region had all the possibilities for the development of ecotourism. According to him, North Kazakhstan is, above all, clean ecology. Accordingly, this is the region where environmentally friendly products are produced. In the region, there are 2 thousand of the cleanest lakes, over 700 thousand hectares of forests.
